Today marks the beginning of an exciting future for communities across Greater Manchester and Merseyside as we launch ForViva - a new housing group that sees City West Housing Trust, Villages Housing Association and construction firm ForWorks come together under a new group structure.

Owning and managing 18,000 homes across the North West, we are committed to achieving our shared vision of “improved lives” for our customers and communities - delivering tailored community services and opportunities, whilst pledging to provide good quality, affordable accommodation and housing services.

Our development plans will not only support the most vulnerable people in our communities, but they will also create opportunities for future generations, and help those looking to take their first steps on to the property ladder.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As a group we will use our shared resources and financial power to make a difference and tackle the priorities in our neighbourhoods.

It’s also essential that all of our communities have innovative aspirational targets for us to achieve together, and so we are working with our customers, partners and staff to develop our Community Impact Strategy - which will improve our offer and social value in the areas of health, education, neighbourhoods, safe communities, employment and enterprise.

As part of our strategy, we will strive to improve the lives of customers through access to education, and offer customers the chance of a brighter future through training, qualifications and employment opportunities. Establishing better links between health and housing services, and delivering measurable outcomes, will also be a real area of focus for us.

ForViva has ambitious plans for the future, and with the same ethos, values and more than 40 years’ experience within the group, we now have the opportunity to grow with purpose - supporting each other more effectively whilst also collaborating with like-minded partners to tackle some of the key issues facing the housing sector.

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and with the Government’s proposals for devolution putting Manchester in charge of services including housing, health and skills, it’s more important than ever that we work with other agencies to ensure our customers have access to the services they need.

As an organisation we value passion, excellence, trust and respect. We value openness, we want to facilitate conversations and work with others to drive forward innovation in the sector.

Ultimately, we want to improve the lives of thousands of people across the North West by transforming communities for the better.

So, here’s to the future, our journey has just begun.
