ForHousing contract expands reach of ForViva group
In July 2017 ForViva was awarded a 10-year contract to manage 5,500 homes in Ellesmere Port and Neston by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Delivered under the brand name ForHousing, the contract will also mean that ForViva is responsible for the management of 210 new affordable homes the council is currently delivering in both Ellesmere Port and Winsford.
The expansion of ForViva’s management of homes in Cheshire means the organisation now owns and manages more than 24,000 properties across the North West.
The ForHousing team has ensured a seamless transfer for staff and customers throughout the handover of the homes.
Commenting on the new contract, Councillor Angela Claydon, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “We are entering a new era for council housing in Ellesmere Port, Neston and Winsford. We’ve worked very closely with the ForHousing team and the ForViva group over recent months and have been impressed by their dedication to improving lives and communities.”
The ForHousing team is currently working with local partners and customers to develop a Community Impact Strategy. This will ensure the organisation’s work in Cheshire goes far beyond the management of properties and will look at ways to create more education and employment opportunities, improve health and wellbeing and make neighbourhoods safer.
ForHousing has also committed to investing in new technology to improve services for customers and staff. Plans include a new website and a new ‘One Number’ multi-channel service for customers. This will mean customers can get in touch with ForHousing in the ways that they want 24-hours-a day, every day of the year.
The team will provide high quality services to customers living in ForHousing homes, and make sure it is always looking at ways of delivering better value for money. ForHousing will be introducing new working practices, and reviewing the quality of products that are provided to people in its homes.
Staff will be looking at how they can make the best use of data on its properties and customers to improve how services are delivered. This intelligence-led approach will allow the team to develop better strategies that will deliver outcomes that will have a greater impact on people’s lives.
ForHousing is passionate about improving the lives of local people and are working in partnership with the council and other stakeholders to deliver thriving communities, thriving residents and a thriving economy.
ForHousing will manage, maintain and build high quality homes that local people need in Ellesmere Port, Neston and Winsford – now and for the future.
